If you don't have Amazon Prime, you can get a free trial of it for 30 days, get your battery bank shipped and then cancel it immediately after so you get the Prime shipping speed but won't be charged for a subscription. If you're bored when walking around you can also get a free Audible trial so you get a free audiobook that you can listen to while hunting Pokemon.

1. Anker PowerCore 20100

  • £27 (though you'll see it discounted to £25 or less)
  • Dual ports
  • 20,000mAh, max output 2.5A
  • Charges iPhone 6 from 0 to 100% 7 times.
Sleek and powerful, it charges an iPhone 6 7 times, and a galaxy S6 five times, it has two ports and it has an output of 4.8A (two 2.4A ports so if you use both ports they will still go at the same speed). For me looks aren't really a priority as I just want something that will keep my phone charged but it does look nice and sleek, it has a matte finish for grip and it supposedly doesn't leave smudges or fingerprints though I found it still does mark up a little. You get 18 month warranty and you can buy it here.

The downsides of this powerhouse are that it charges slowly because of its capacity and so it will take around 10 hours to charge it, which is fine if you plan out your trips. Although there are cheaper options I'm a fan of Anker's customer service - I actually trust them to honour their warranty program, it costs around £25 but this is a reliable product that will really last. Buy it here.

2. EC Technology 2nd Gen Deluxe 22400mAh 3 USB External Battery

  • 22400mAh power bank compatible with iPhone, and android
  • Charges iPhone 6 up to 8 times
  • 3 USB ports, LED flashlight
  • Premium quality Li-ion cells with 500 rechargeable cycles
This battery is an amazing deal for just £25 considering you get almost 8 charges on an iPhone 6, it gives you higher output than the Anker PowerCore 20100 and it is almost £4 cheaper, which makes it a bargain if you aren't too bothered about how the support/customer services are. They have 4.5 stars out of 2079 reviews so many people have tried, tested and loved this external battery and you will too! Buy it now from Amazon.

3. Poweradd Pilot X7

  • £16, free delivery on orders over £20, plus a free iPhone case or a discount on other products
  • Dual ports
  • 20,000mAh with max output 2.1A
This is a great choice as it is on sale right now for just £16, it has the same capacity as the Anker with slightly less maximum output but there's only 0.4A in it. This will charge up a little faster than the Anker PowerCore and they include a "24 month worry-free product guarantee". There are also a number of offers like a free iPhone cases when you order to sweeten the deal.

4. Anker PowerCore 10000 Portable Charger

  • One of the smallest and lightest 10000mAh portable chargers
  • Provides 3.5 iPhone 6s charges
  • Includes Anker's exclusive PowerIQ and VoltageBoost to give the fastest possible charge for any device
  • 18 month worry free warranty
  • Anker's amazing customer service
This is a gorgeous little power pack and if you buy this you're joining the 205 reviewers that gave it 4.9 stars in total, I've handled one my friend has and it feels well built and looks really modern, not clunky like others on the market. It includes a travel pouch and their great support team so it is a bargain for £22. Buy it on Amazon now!

5. Puridea S4 Series Dual USB Portable Charger

  • 150g, 1.5A output
  • 6600mAh, dual ports
  • £6.59 if you buy the gray one, I like pink
This slim charger is really easy to carry around making it ideal if you want to be able to stay out for a while without running out of battery, and not have to carry a bag, it will fit easily in jean pockets. It will charge an iPhone 6 twice which is reasonable for a daily jaunt, assuming you'll recharge it nightly. This isn't as reliable as the other choices but it has still gained 4.7 stars on Amazon, some people have experienced problems with 1 usb port stopping working and its from a no-name company, if you can afford to you should really consider buying from Anker instead.

6. Swees 25600mAh Ultra High Capacity Power Bank

  • 25600mAh charges most phones 10+ times
  • This was my rank 2 but it is currently unavailable
  • 3 USB ports, 4.5A max output
  • Full charging time 12 hours
  • £24 on Amazon
This is almost the size of a small tablet, but it packs a punch, if you really want value for money and you don't mind it being a little inconvenient to carry this will give you more juice than the Anker battery, though its lower on my list as I don't really think you need this many full charges, but this is mostly my bias as women's clothing doesn't have pockets (or at least not good ones). This would be great for sharing between the family to charge devices especially if going on trips like camping, or for a festival. You could potentially get a few between your team and use it between a few people.
